The exhibition presents the results of a research study focused on the analysis of the oil on canvas Virgin of Bethlehem, preserved in the presbytery of the Church of San Jorge at the Hospital de la Santa Caridad. The analysis has provided new data about the work and advanced its authentication process, establishing its attribution to Bartolomé Esteban Murillo and confirming its relationship with the painting Virgin and Child by José de Ribera, dated 1646 and preserved in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
