ABOUT THE PROJECT

Organized to mark the 5th Centenary of the Magellan-Elcano expedition that culminated in the First Circumnavigation of the globe. It traces the history of the voyage that became one of the greatest milestones in human exploration.

The exhibition pays special attention to the figure of Juan Sebastián Elcano and the decisive return through the Indian Ocean, approaching this episode as the moment when the expedition acquired its true historical significance. Through this narrative, the exhibition conveys the human, nautical, and scientific dimensions of the voyage, as well as the courage of a decision that forever transformed the understanding of the world.
